Notre Dame

Sophomore guard Abby Prohaska announced that she has been diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolism and will be out indefinitely. She averaged 1.5 PPG in 14.4 MPG during her freshman season.

UPDATE: Prohaska will likely be out until at least January, as noted in this article.

Prohaska is likely to remain sidelined until at least January under the “best-case” scenario that coach Muffet McGraw offered during a pre-practice media session Monday afternoon.

Louisville

Two freshmen, Nyah Green (top-25 ranked in the 2019 class) and Ramani Parker, will redshirt this season.

In fact, Walz has so many pieces that he announced Monday on the eve of the Cardinals’ regular-season opener against WKU Sunday night that freshman point guard Nyah Green, a freshman McDonald’s All-American who chose Louisville over Baylor, South Carolina and Tennessee, will redshirt this season, as will 6-4 freshman Ramani Parker, a four-star recruit. Walz said the move was made to benefit the players and program “down the road.”

Virginia Tech

Freshman wing Taylor Geiman is dealing with a shin injury that will force her to miss the first three weeks of the season.

In addition to Kitley, the other freshmen are Cayla King, who was one of Kitley’s high school teammates; Makayla Ennis; and Taylor Geiman, who will miss the first three weeks of the season because of a shin injury.
