Athena Hocevar commits to Youngstown State (News Herald, 5/12/2020)

“I knew from Day 1 YSU is where I felt most comfortable,” Hocevar said. “I took a few (visits) there actually, but my first one was somewhere toward the end of summer of my sophomore year. I loved it. I loved the campus, the girls on the team, the geography in being close to home — everything.

“I knew from Day 1.”

Hocevar chose YSU over scholarship offers from Oakland, Detroit Mercy, Austin Peay and High Point. She also had interest from Robert Morris, Miami (Ohio), Columbia and Lehigh.
