Norman’s Chantae Embry commits to Texas Tech (Oklahoman, 8/20/2020)
“Didn’t have Texas Tech or UTA in my top 4, and I honestly think God works in mysterious ways,” Embry said of what changed her mind. “But I love the relationship me and coach Krista Gerlich built over the years and her vision for her players and me, specifically.
“I’m just so excited and feel like this was a great fit for me.”
Chantae Embry continues to excel despite move to Class 6A (Oklahoman, 1/22/2020)
“When she came in, she did exactly what I would hope every kid does in our program,” Neal said. “She works extremely hard. Tries to be the first in everything.”
Embry is thriving for defending champion Norman but admitted Class 6A competition is stiffer than the teams she faced during her time with Class 3A Prague.
“It’s been a change, definitely has,” said Embry, who is shooting 56% from the field and 49% from 3-point range. “Higher tempo, faster-paced game.”
