Washington’s RaShunda Jones fun to watch, joy to coach (South Bend Tribune, 2/11/2021)

“RaShunda is a two-way player and that’s what makes her so special,” noted Reynolds, who played professionally overseas. “She can make an impact on offense and on defense. She’s a gym rat with a motor that is off the chart.

“The thing that coaches at the next level need to know about her though is that her coachability and her aptitude for learning are both off the charts too.” . . .

Jones, who was nicknamed Spider by her coach since she is long and can get places fast, can score in multiple ways. She is shooting 50 percent from the field, including 32 percent from distance (26-82) and has gotten to the free throw line a team-high 128 times (making 90, 70.3%).

“I just try to bring confidence and be mentally prepared for every game,” Jones said of her role. “I’m just very invested in basketball.”
