Marian coach Steve Scott says it’s all about the work ethic of his star 5-9 guard.

“The thing about Nevaeh is that she did not take her success last year for granted,” Scott said. “She works just as hard. She’s always in the gym working on her game.”

Foster comes from a basketball family. Father Brian played at Riley and is an assistant coach for the Knights. Younger brother Brandon is a highly-touted seventh grader.

“I just love the game and love being in the gym,” Foster said. “It’s fun for me to be there with my dad and brother. My dad is hard on me, but we have a really good relationship. He just wants me to be the best I can be as a player.

“My parents taught me to just stay focused and keep my mind to it. It’s what I love.”
