March 13 Transfer Updates

  • Another Kentucky player into the portal: Janae Walker (6-3 FR center, Tyrone, GA). Her other finalists when she picked the Wildcats were Southern Cal, Syracuse, and Wisconsin.
  • Sydney Gandy (5-5 JR point guard, Long Beach, CA) has entered the portal, out of Loyola Marymount. She transferred from Idaho to LMU following the 2022-23 season.
  • Also in the portal out of LMU: Nicole Rodriguez (5-8 SR shooting guard, Eastvale, CA); 2023-24 stats: 10.2 PPG, .377 3FG%
  • Mama Dembele (5-6 SR point guard, Manlleu, Spain) has entered the portal, as a grad transfer out of Missouri; 2023-24 stats: 10.2 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 6.5 APG, 3.3 steals/game; All-SEC Defensive Team honors
  • For additional players added to the 2023-24 transfer list today, see Florida Atlantic, Miami (OH), Northern Colorado, Samford, Santa Clara, and Weber State.

March 12 Transfer Updates

  • Grad transfer in the portal: Ajae Petty (6-3 SR forward, Baltimore, MD) out of Kentucky; 2023-24 stats: 31.2 MPG, 14.2 PPG, 10.6 RPG
  • Here are two women’s basketball players who’ve entered their name into the portal who aren’t grad transfers: Zennia Thomas (6-2 SO forward, Lyndhurst, OH / Kentucky) and Grace Ceseretti (5-9 SO shooting guard, Barrington, RI / UMBC). Thomas was dismissed from the Kentucky team in January 2024.
  • Grad transfer in the portal: Claire Simmons (5-10 JR wing, Louisville, KY) out of Chicago State; 2023-24 stats: 20.2 MPG, 5.3 PPG, 3.0 RPG
  • Grad transfer in the portal: Kayla Henning (5-7 SR point guard, Evanston, IL) out of American; 2023-24 stats: 26.5 MPG, 6.4 PPG, 2.4 APG, 2.2 RPG 
  • For additional grad transfers added to the 2023-24 transfer list today, see Jacksonville State, Lehigh, Pepperdine, and Weber State.

March 11 Transfer Updates

  • Jane Nwaba (5-10 SR wing/forward, Carson, CA) has entered her name into the transfer portal, as a grad transfer out of Pepperdine; 2023-24 stats: 10.7 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 2.8 APG; honorable mention All-WCC
  • Have heard that Grace Pack (6-2 SO center, Midlothian, VA) will be entering her name into the portal, out of Gardner-Webb; started 22 out of 30 games during the 2023-24 season, averaging 6.4 PPG and 3.9 RPG in 19.8 MPG
  • Another grad transfer who has entered the portal is MaKayla Elmore (6-3 JR forward, Fostoria, OH), out of Clemson; started 28 out of 31 games in 2023-24, averaging 4.3 PPG and 5.6 RPG
  • Elle Sutphin (6-3 RS SR forward/center, Pilot Mountain, NC), who had entered the portal as a grad transfer earlier this month, has announced that she’s staying at Davidson
  • Several others were added to the 2023-24 transfer list today. See Akron, Denver, Fordham, Miami (OH), Western Carolina, and Xavier.

Three More Grads into the Portal

The portal gains another group of women’s basketball grad transfers:

  • Central Arkansas: Kierra Prim, 5-9 SR wing, Overland Park, KS; two seasons at UCA: 46 games, 23.9 MPG, 5.5 PPG, 4.7 RPG
  • Chicago State: Laura Segues, 5-10 SR wing, Castelloli, Spain; 2023-24 stats: 13 games, 14.3 MPG, 4.5 PPG, 1.2 RPG
  • Nicholls State: Ashley Malone, 5-7 SR shooting guard, Nashville, TN; 2023-24 stats: 11 games, 12.0 MPG, 6.5 PPG, 1.8 RPG {transfer history: from Jacksonville to Tennessee State following the 2021-22 season; from TSU to Nicholls State following the 2022-23 season}

Four Grad Transfers Enter Portal

Four women’s basketball players entered their names into the transfer portal on March 1. All four are grad transfers, and all have transferred previously.

  • Davidson: Elle Sutphin, 6-3 RS SR forward/center, Pilot Mountain, NC; 2023-24 stats: 28.7 MPG, 12.9 PPG, 4.7 RPG {transfer history: from to NC State to Davidson following the 2020-21 season}
  • Oklahoma State: Brianna Jackson, 6-3 GR center, Virginia Beach, VA; 2023-24 stats: 14.5 MPG (played in just 4 games), 6.4 PPG, 4.5 RPG {transfer history: from Miami (FL) to Old Dominion following the 2020-21 season; grad transfer from ODU to OK State following the 2022-23 season}
  • Omaha: Liz Martino, 6-0 RS JR shooting guard, Lanham, MD; 2023-24: played in just 2 games and is no longer listed on their roster {transfer history: from Rutgers to Jackson State following the 2021-22 season; from JSU to Omaha following the 2022-23 season}
  • Texas Tech: Jazion Jackson, 5-9 GR point guard, Dallas, TX; 2023-24: did not play after suffering a preseason injury {transfer history: from North Texas to UTEP following the 2021-22 season; grad transfer from UTEP to Texas Tech following the 2022-23 season}
