Women’s Basketball Transfer News, June 2022


Kansas City grad transfer Paige Bradford (6-0 SR center, Davenport, IA) has landed at UIC. Her 2021-22 stats: 9.2 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 2.3 APG, 28 blocks.

UIC head women’s basketball coach Ashleen Bracey added another piece to her inaugural recruiting class on Tuesday, June 14, with the signing of Paige Bradford.

“I am very excited to add Paige to our Flames WBB family,” said Bracey. “Paige brings a wealth of experience and has proven to be a consistent threat in the paint and on the glass. Paige has the ability to stretch the floor and adds versatility and depth to our inside position. Most importantly, she understands what it takes to win at this level and was an impact player on a postseason team this past season.”

TCU announces the addition of incoming freshman Aaliyah Roberson, 6-2 C, Clark HS (San Antonio, TX), and five transfers:

Utah Valley officially announces the signing of Utah State transfer Halle Nelson (6-1 SO guard/forward, American Fork, UT).

Utah Valley University head coach Dan Nielson has announced the signing of Utah State transfer Halle Nelson. Nelson will join the Wolverines for this coming season and will be a redshirt sophomore in 2022-23.

“We’re really excited to finally have Halle at UVU,” Nielson said. “Her ability to shoot and get to the basket, all while guarding multiple spots make us better immediately. That versatility will make her an important piece of our team for the next few years. We can’t wait to get working with her this summer!”

As a freshman in 2020-21 at Utah State, the 6-foot-1 Nelson appeared in 14 games and averaged 4.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. She recorded career-highs of 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals against UNLV. Nelson also received Academic All-Mountain West honors and was a MW Scholar-Athlete. She redshirted the 2021-22 season.

Florida State officially announces the addition of Virginia Tech transfer Brianna Turnage (6-1 FR wing, Atlanta, GA).

Florida State Women’s Basketball Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff has announced the program’s third new addition this off-season, as Top 100 signee Brianna “Snoop” Turnage (Atlanta, Ga.) has inked her National Letter of Intent.

Turnage, an athletic guard who played with incoming McDonald’s All-American Ta’Niya Latson at Westlake High School, was ranked 61st overall in the class of 2021.
