Pepperdine (WCC) officially announces the addition of TCU transfer Becky Obinma (6-2 RS FR center, Menifee, CA).

The Pepperdine women’s basketball team added some veteran depth on Thursday, as head coach Kristen Dowling announced the signing of transfer Becky Obinma from Texas Christian.

The 6-foot-3 forward from Menifee, Calif. will sit out the 2020-21 school year (unless NCAA transfer rules change this summer) and have two seasons to play with the Waves.

Obinma saw action in 28 games for the Horned Frogs as a redshirt freshman, averaging 1.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. She scored a season-high eight points against Auburn on Dec. 7, as well as bringing down a season-high six rebounds.

“We are so excited to add someone of Becky’s caliber to our program,” Dowling said of Obinma. “She is a local product, having graduated from Rosary High School and a player who will be bringing the experience of playing Power 5 basketball to our program.
