Texas Tech lands their second transfer this month, this time signing former UConn player Lexi Gordon (6-0 SO wing, Fort Worth, TX) as a midyear transfer. They previously picked up Shug Dickson from Tulsa (noted below).
Lady Raider Basketball is adding a new face at the semester break with the signing of UConn transfer Lexi Gordon, Head Coach Marlene Stollings announced Sunday.
The 6-foot guard from Hurst, Texas, comes to Lubbock after spending her freshman season with the top-ranked UConn Huskies. Gordon will join the Lady Raiders at the spring semester.
“I am very proud to welcome home the highly-ranked Texas girls’ basketball phenom, Lexi Gordon. She brings exceptional ability to score and will thrive in our high-octane offensive system,” Stollings said. “Lexi’s tireless work ethic and high basketball IQ are characteristics that will help catapult our program into the national spotlight. UConn transfer Lexi Gordon (6-0 SO wing, Fort Worth, TX) is visiting Texas Tech this weekend, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports. Texas A&M and Northwestern are also reportedly in the mix.
Along those lines, Stollings and company are in the mix to add another known name to the Texas Tech roster.
UConn’s Lexi Gordon, who elected to transfer back at the beginning of December, is slated to visit Lubbock over the weekend, a source said.

UT Arlington adds former Indiana player Danielle Williams (6-4 SR center, Fort Worth, TX) to its roster as an immediately eligible midyear graduate transfer. She had sat out 2017-18 at Indiana under a medical exemption, then graduated from IU in December 2018. Having played just two seasons at IU, she will be eligible in 2019-20 for the Mavericks as well.
“This is an exciting day to have Danielle on campus and certified to play immediately,” Gerlich said. “She brings us really good size and strength inside. She will be a defensive force protecting the rim and help us rebound the ball. She’s a high character young lady and very mature and professional. She’s a great addition for our inside game and adds even more to our balanced attack.”
Williams is immediately eligible to play and is expected to be in a jersey for her first game on campus this afternoon against UTSA at 2 p.m. Williams will wear the No. 44 jersey.
Williams, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, played high school basketball at North Crowley before playing at Indiana for two seasons. The 6-foot-4 senior played in just eight games for the Hoosiers after battling through injury. Williams did not play for the Hoosiers in the 2017-18 season.

Texas Tech has announced the signing of Shug Dickson (5-9 JR guard, St. Louis, MO) as a midyear transfer from Tulsa. Press release says she spent two seasons at Tulsa, but it was really 2+ seasons, as she played in three games in 2018-19, averaging 5.7 PPG.
Lady Raider Basketball Head Coach Marlene Stollings announced the addition of mid-year transfer Renetha “Shug” Dickson on Thursday.
Dickson is a 5-9 guard from St. Louis, Mo. She spent her first two seasons at the University of Tulsa.
“Shug’s is versatile wing who can score in all facets of the game. She has a scorer’s mentality, which fits in well with our high-octane offensive system. Shug possesses a competitiveness that will immediately help make everyone around her better,” Stollings said.
In her rookie season, She made school history by becoming the first freshman with three consecutive 20-point scoring games. Dickson had a career night recording 21 points, four assists, and four rebounds against No. 1 UConn. Following the season, she was tabbed to The American All-Freshman team. During her career at Tulsa, she averaged 11.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Texas transfer Chasity Patterson (5-5 SO point guard, Houston, TX) has chosen her new school: Kentucky. It appears she also considered Ohio State.
UPDATE: UK press release makes it clear that Patterson is a midyear transfer who will have to sit out a year, becoming eligible to play for Kentucky next December after the fall semester.
Chasity Patterson, who was the top ranked point guard in the class of 2017 according to ESPN.com and the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year last season at Texas, has announced she will transfer to the University of Kentucky and enroll in classes in the spring of 2019.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Patterson will sit out the spring and fall semesters of 2019 and be eligible to compete for Kentucky after the fall semester next December. Patterson is expected to join the team following the holiday break and will be eligible to practice with the Wildcats immediately.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Chasity Patterson to our program and cannot wait to get her on campus,” UK head coach Matthew Mitchell said. “Chasity is an athletic guard with incredible play-making abilities on both ends of the court. She’s a high-energy player who possess a winning pedigree having won 125 games in high school. Chasity fits our system perfectly and when you couple that with the opportunity to compete at the highest level here at Kentucky, it was a perfect match. We are confident that her experience will be a valuable asset to our team.”

Former Arizona player Shalyse Smith (6-1 FR forward, Tacoma, WA) has signed with Idaho.
Idaho women’s hoops signed Shalyse Smith to a financial aid agreement, head coach Jon Newlee announced Tuesday morning. Smith a freshman transfer from the University of Arizona, will join the Vandals for the spring semester.
“Shalyse is an unbelievably talented player both offensively and defensively,” Newlee said. “There is a reason she was ranked as the 7th best wing in the country and the 48th best player in the country regardless of position as a high school senior last year. She is so explosive with the ball and is a relentless physical rebounder. She plays with such a high motor defensively, and is so athletic she will be able to guard 1 through 5 for us. I really just love her all-around game and the fact that she plays with such passion and desire when she steps on the floor. Shalyse has a great personality, she is a perfect fit for our Vandal Family! It is a great day to be a Vandal!”

Madison Treece (6-2 SO forward, St. Peters, MO) is transferring from Duke. She played just 17 minutes during four games this season, scoring just 1 point. During 17 games her freshman season, he averaged 1 PPG in 5.5 MPG. Ranked #81 by espnW in the 2017 class, she originally committed to Kentucky but then reopened her recruitment, later picking the Blue Devils over Michigan, Oklahoma State, Purdue, and TCU.
Sophomore women’s basketball forward Madison Treece will transfer from Duke University. Treece will depart Duke in good academic standing and is expected to transfer to another Division I institution.
“We support Madison and her decision,” said Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie. “It was a pleasure to know her and to coach her. We wish her the very best for her career.”
Treece, a native of St. Peters, Mo., had appeared in four contests in 2018-19 and a total of 21 games over the last two seasons in Durham.

Former Cincinnati player Genesis Parker (5-8 JR guard, Bristow, VA) has signed with Butler. She started her college career at Virginia Tech.
Parker attended Virginia Tech and Cincinnati before transferring to Butler. As a Hokie, Parker played in five games during the 2016-17 season before making the move to Cincinnati. As a Bearcat in 2017-18, Parker played in 21 games, averaging 3.8 points per game. Parker’s coming out party came in a game at Michigan State in the 2018 WNIT. She came off the bench to score 30 points on 10-of-12 shooting against the Spartans. Those 30 points came in just 23 minutes of playing time. Parker’s performance also included seven rebounds and two steals.
Coming out of Stonewall Jackson High School, Parker was a four-star recruit that was ranked 62nd overall and 18th among all guards (ESPN HoopGurlz). She was named USA Today Second Team All-Virginia following her senior campaign. The WHSL First Team 6A All-State team selection helped Stonewall Jackson win the 6A title in 2014.

Former Virginia Tech player Shaniya Jones (5-7 FR guard, High Point, NC) is transferring to Georgia.
Freshman guard Shaniya Jones, who left the Hokies after a Nov. 28 win over Rutgers with the intention to transfer, has picked a new school. Jones announced on Twitter on Friday that she has decided to transfer to Georgia.
