West Virginia grad transfer Nia Staples (5-9 RS SO guard, Cincinnati, OH) will finish her bachelor’s degree in August.

“I was exposed to a lot of opportunities here but really I just want a new start,” Staples said. . . .

Staples will complete her sports psychology degree this summer with a minor in counseling. She will pursue a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology.

Staples earned Big 12 All-Academic honors for two years and has a 3.2 grade-point average.

Georgia announces the signing of UConn transfer Mikayla Coombs (5-8 SO guard, Buford, GA), who plans to apply for a waiver.

Coombs will have two years of eligibility at Georgia and is applying for a waiver for immediate eligibility without sitting out a year.

Former Texas player Destiny Littleton (5-9 SO shooting guard, La Jolla, CA) has announced that she’s transferring to South Carolina. And she is hoping to apply for a waiver for immediate eligibility.

Staley has previously said she wanted to add a transfer with the ability to play immediately for South Carolina, either as a graduate transfer or with a waiver from the NCAA. Wells told The State that Littleton hopes to apply for a waiver.

Notre Dame officially announces the signing of North Carolina grad transfer Destinee Walker (5-10 guard, Orlando, FL).

The University of Notre Dame women’s basketball team received a roster boost in the form of fifth-year transfer Destinee Walker. The move from North Carolina to the Notre Dame was made official this past Friday. Walker, a 5’10” guard out of Orlando, will be eligible to compete right away for the 2019-20 season.
