Bree Salenbien, 6-3 F, Lenawee Christian School (MI): a feature on Salenbien in the Adrian Daily Telegram puts her scholarship count at two dozen, although it doesn’t note her most recent offer: Kentucky. At least six Big Ten schools have offered her, including the two in her home state. She says she’s “wide open” right now with regard to her college future.
College coaches have had their eye on Salenbien for a couple of years now, but she was never watched as close as she was this summer. The list of Division I offers she has received is up to 24 and include Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Maryland out of the Big Ten, plus institutions as Duke, North Carolina, DePaul, Florida, UCLA, Gonzaga and Cal-State Fullerton. . . .
She said at this point, she’s not leaning toward any one college. The official visits will come later.
“Right now, I’m wide open,” she said.

Abby Carter, 5-11 W, Eastlake North HS (OH): announced her commitment to Akron (MAC).
UPDATE: The Willoughby News-Herald has an article with further info on Carter’s pledge.
Carter also had scholarship offers from Youngstown State and Findlay, but said the atmosphere and style of play at Akron drew her to that program and enticed her to shut down her recruiting cycle with her verbal commitment.
“I took my first visit there in September, and we discussed it then,” she said of her feelings about Jackson’s Akron program. “When we were there today (July 29), I was 90 percent sure I was going to commit. Watching the team warm up, my dad said, ‘Abby, I think this is the place for you,’ and I thought so, too.”

Kaysia Woods, 6-0 W, Lincoln HS (NE): a Lincoln Journal Star feature on Woods runs through the four offers she’s received, including the most recent one, from Colgate.
Woods’ smooth shooting form has been attracting attention from NCAA Division I coaches for some time now. She received her first Division I offer, from Wichita State, during her freshman season at Lincoln Northeast.
“Getting my first offer during my freshman year, it was almost like a dream come true,” Woods said. “I’ve been putting in the work for years, and it just feels good to know that all my work is paying off.”
Offers from Kansas State and Colorado State soon followed, and recently, Woods got an offer from Colgate.

Brynn Shoup-Hill, 6-2 F, Goshen HS (IN): has eight D-I offers, most of them coming recently, according to a Goshen News article.
It’s been a busy summer for Shoup-Hill, as she now has eight collegiate basketball offers. The Goshen High School junior had just one when her softball season ended in May.
The eight schools to offer Shoup-Hill are Purdue-Fort Wayne, Central Michigan, LIU-Brooklyn, Ball State, Indiana State, IUPUI, Illinois State and Akron.
