Coverage of the women’s basketball 2020 recruiting class: offers, commitments, decommitments, official and unofficial visits, recruiting updates from news sites and other sources, etc. Items listed in reverse chronological order.
Ashley Hiraki, 5-7 G, Archbishop Mitty HS (San Jose, CA): announced her commitment to Cal State Northridge (Big West). She joins three Matador signees in the 2020 class (see this page of the 2020 commitments list).
New Mexico (Mountain West) picks up commitments from juco sophomores and twin sisters LaTascya Duff and LaTora Duff. They are 5-7 guards out of Shelton State CC (AL), originally from Samson, AL. UNM had signed two high school seniors during the early signing period (see this page of the 2020 commitments list).
Twin sisters LaTascya and LaTora Duff were at the game as part of a recruiting visit and apparently enjoyed the atmosphere. Both junior college guards announced verbal commitments to UNM via Twitter on Monday.
California Baptist (WAC) announced four 2020 signees, three of which were previously known. The fourth, Eliana Bravington, a 6-3 center out of Melbourne, Australia, enrolled at the school this month and joined the team (but presumably won’t play until the 2020-21 season).
Eliana Bravington makes her way to Riverside by way of Melbourne, Australia, the same hometown claimed by future teammate Georgia Dale.
Bravington is a six-foot-three-inch post player who will begin classes at CBU in January 2020 while also beginning to participate in team activities.
She has spent time with the Knox Raiders and was a VYCW League MVP. Most recently, Bravington spent time playing in the NBL1 with the Frankston Blues.
Caitlin McGee, 6-1 F, Sandalwood HS (Jacksonville, FL): After signing with Ole Miss during the early signing period, McGee has enrolled early at the school, although she will not play until the 2020-21 season.
Ole Miss Women’s Basketball signee Caitlin McGee has enrolled at the university early and will sit out with the team as a redshirt for the Spring 2020 semester, head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced Tuesday.
McGee – a 6-1 forward out of Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida – graduated early this past December. McGee made the decision to enroll early to help prepare for her freshman season.
“We are so excited to have Caitlin here during this spring semester,” McPhee-McCuin said. “Not only will she have a huge opportunity to get better, she will be able to see many SEC teams up close. This is huge for our program.”
Denijsha Wilson, 5-2 juco sophomore PG, Labette CC (KS): committed to USC Upstate (Big South). She’s originally from Philadelphia, PA.
Ava Irvin, 5-9 G, Greater Atlanta Christian School (Norcross, GA): committed to Syracuse. The Orange announced the signing of five 2020 prospects during the early signing period, plus another player reportedly committed to them in early November but wasn’t among the five signees. See the 2020 commitments page for details.
Alicja Falkowska, 6-5 juco sophomore C, Panola College (TX): committed to Hawaii (Big West). She’s originally from Lomianki, Poland.
