2020 Class: Recruiting News/Updates, January 2019

Coverage of the women’s basketball 2020 recruiting class: offers, commitments, decommitments, unofficial and official visits, recruiting updates from news sites and other sources, etc. Items listed in reverse chronological order.

Taylor Lauterbach, 6-6 C, Appleton West HS (WI): was offered by Illinois.

Kenna Hisle, 5-10 W, Evansville North HS (IN): A Courier and Press feature on Hisle mentions that she has an offer from Eastern Illinois. Her father, Mark Hisle, played D-I basketball at Evansville.

Destinee Marshall, 5-5 PG, Sacred Heart Academy (Louisville, KY): This article notes that Marshall has offers from Austin Peay, Northern Kentucky, and Radford.

Casey Santoro, 5-4 PG, Bellevue HS (OH): committed to Kent State (MAC). Her older sister, Carly Santoro, is currently on the Ohio State women’s basketball team, after grad-transferring from Bowling Green.

Dani Haskell, 5-7 G, Franklinville HS (NY): The Olean Times Herald provides more information on Haskell’s commitment to Canisius (MAAC) earlier this month.

So playing somewhere relatively local was a priority for Haskell, who said she also considered Siena and St. Bonaventure, among other schools.

“I’m lucky,” she said, “because I get to stay close and they’re a good D-I team. So the fact that I get to be able to play for that is really cool.

“It’s very exciting, especially for my family, knowing that I’m going to be close. I have aunts and uncles and cousins that live in Buffalo, too, so they were all really excited.”

Erin Fox, 6-0 F, Millbrook HS (NY): announced her commitment to Marist (MAAC), becoming the first 2020 commit for the Red Foxes. Other schools that reportedly offered her include Manhattan, Austin Peay, Wagner, Colgate, and Albany.

Nyah Leveretter, 6-2 F, Westwood HS (Blythewood, SC): announced her commitment to Kentucky. She’s the Wildcats’ first commit for 2020. An article in The State provided a rundown of the other schools she considered and singled out South Carolina as a school she definitely had an offer from.

“The biggest factor for me was that they had every single thing I needed and wanted in a school,” Leveretter said. “I consistently talked with all the coaches and they all made me feel 100 percent comfortable over the phone and on my unofficial visit.”

Leveretter said she also considered Furman, Florida, Clemson, UNC Charlotte, Davidson, William and Mary and North Florida. She also had an offer from South Carolina.

Jacorriah Bracey, 5-11 SG/W, Ruleville Central HS (MS): Bracey committed to Ole Miss in mid-September. From this article, it appears at least one other school is still recruiting her despite her pledge. Regardless, she says her commitment is “solid.”

Bracey committed to head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s Ole Miss program on Sept. 15, just a little while after the Rebel football team lost to Alabama. To hear her tell it, there will be no changing her mind, despite the fact she holds offers from LSU, Tennessee, Alabama, Clemson, Temple and West Virginia. National powerhouse Mississippi State is also recruiting her.

“I’m solid in my commitment,” Bracey told the Ole Miss Spirit. “I’m committed to playing at Ole Miss. It was just their main approach. They made me feel as if I were at home. It was like I found my second home.”

Savannah Tucker, 5-9 G, Clovis North HS (Fresno, CA): picked up an offer from Northern Arizona.

Abby Stoddard, 6-1 W, Crown Point HS (IN): landed an offer from Tulsa. Between September and December of 2018, the following schools reportedly offered her: SIUE, Lipscomb, Eastern Illinois, Loyola Chicago, Valparaiso, and Purdue Fort Wayne.

Belle Kranbuhl, 6-2 F, Adirondack HS (Boonville, NY): received an offer from Bucknell, after picking up one from Albany last week. She reportedly picked up several offers between May and November of 2018: Binghamton, Monmouth, Holy Cross, Manhattan, Niagara, Hofstra, and La Salle.

Hannah McKay, 6-0 F, Owensboro Catholic HS (KY): A Lexington Herald-Leader article mentions that McKay has offers from Murray State, Western Kentucky, Jacksonville State, and Xavier.
