2020 Class: Recruiting News/Updates, April 2019


Sydney Parrish, 6-1 W, Hamilton Southeastern HS (IN): announced her commitment to Oregon, their first 2020 commit. She’s currently ranked #11 in her recruiting class by espnW. Parrish’s other finalists were UCLA, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

RaShaya Kyle, 6-6 C, Marion HS (IN): committed to Purdue, over Indiana and Michigan State. She’s currently ranked #39 in the 2020 class by espnW. Kyle is the second 2020 commit for the Boilermakers, joining Madison Layden, 6-1 G, Northwestern HS (Kokomo, IN).

“I picked Purdue because this is where I was planning to go. They make everything feel like home,” Kyle said. “All the academic things that I want, and everyone is welcoming and loving there. It’s a fun place to be.

“Purdue is where my gut was telling me to go. I’m going to have a bright future there.”

Makayla Everette, 6-4 C, Beddingfield HS (Wilson, NC), has committed to North Carolina A&T (MEAC), per a source. She’s the first 2020 commit for the Aggies.

Charlee Settle, 6-0 G/F, Calloway County HS (Murray, KY): announced her commitment to Murray State (OVC), their second 2020 commit. The first was Hannah McKay, 6-0 F, Owensboro Catholic HS (KY), who committed earlier this month.

Taylor Janssen, 6-3 F, Rosemount HS (MN): Rosemount Town Pages provides a feature on Janssen’s commitment to Montana State last month.

When talking about her decision to verbally commit to the Bobcats, Janssen said it was all about the environment and feel of the team.

“Their culture and the team-family atmosphere that they have there,” she said about why she chose Montana State. “Everyone really seemed like they were having a good time while being there, while other schools that I went to it didn’t seem like everyone enjoyed being there as much as I thought they should. So it was kind of just the culture they had there that made everyone want to be there and have fun while they’re getting the job done.

Lamariyee Williams, 5-9 G, River Rouge HS (MI): has offers from Niagara, Florida Atlantic, Grambling, and North Carolina A&T, according to this article.

Williams had an outstanding junior year, averaging 22.3 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Williams already has offers from Niagara, Florida Atlantic, Grambling and North Carolina A&T.
