Coverage of the women’s basketball 2021 recruiting class: offers, commitments, decommitments, unofficial visits, recruiting updates from news sites and other sources, etc. Items listed in reverse chronological order.


Gianna Kneepkens, 5-10 G, Duluth Marshall HS (MN): has an offer from North Dakota State, according to a Duluth News Tribune article on Kneepkens and her HS teammate Grace Kirk (2020 class).

Kirk’s D-I suitors thus far include Wisconsin-Green Bay, Hampton and St. Bonaventure, while Kneepkens has an offer from North Dakota State, plus myriad additional interest.

Shannon Karlin, 6-0 G/W, Notre Dame de Sion High School (Kansas City, MO): picked up her first D-I offer, from Cal Poly.

Taylor Bigby, 6-0 G, Centennial HS (Las Vegas, NV): Florida State is the latest school to offer Bigby, who reportedly has more than 25 offers, including Arizona, UCLA, UNLV, USC, Louisville, and Michigan.

Caileigh Walsh, 6-3 C, Gill St. Bernard’s School (Gladstone, NJ): received her first offer, from Fordham.

Victoria “Vicky” Morales, 5-5 PG, Proctor Academy (Andover, NH): A North Andover Eagle-Tribune feature on Morales mentions that she has D-I offers from Rhode Island and Kent State. Her hometown is Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Her longtime coach with the Boy and Girls Club, Dan Halloran, was at Monday’s game.

He said, “She’s the most talented I’ve coached, boy or girl.”

De La Hoz heaped high praise on her when he said, “I love Elemy, but I think Vicky brings more to the game.”

Elemy is Elemy Colome, another Lawrencian at Proctor who is now starring at Division 1 URI, averaging 15.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals in this her junior year.

There is a long way from being a high school star and a Division 1 college star. But the potential is certainly there. And Morales does have D1 offers already from URI and Kent State in Ohio.

Hanna Knoll, 5-6 PG, Angola HS (IN): received an offer from Northern Kentucky. Purdue Fort Wayne offered her in December 2018.

Denae Fritz, 5-5 G, Maryville HS (TN): picked up an offer from Tennessee Tech, her first offer.

Kyndall Hunter, 5-8 G, Cypress Creek HS (Houston, TX): was offered by Texas A&M. She also has an offer from Houston.

Kiyley Flowers, 5-9 PG, Fort Osage HS (Independence, MO): announced her commitment to Saint Louis (Atlantic 10), their first commitment in the 2021 recruiting class.

Chantae Embry, 6-2 F, Prague HS (OK): A Shawnee News-Star feature on Embry delves into how she is dealing with her period of rehabilitation after suffering a knee injury during the summer of 2018.

Chantae said college teams are even watching her during this recovery period to learn about her in this role. She is still taking visits to colleges, including a recent recruiting trip to Tulsa.

Embry had made a very early verbal commitment to Oklahoma State but then reopened her recruitment in April 2018. Since then, she has landed offers from Arkansas, Tulsa, Oral Roberts, TCU, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

Aneesah Morrow, 6-1 G, Chicago Simeon HS (IL): picked up an offer from Illinois. Among her previous offers are Ole Miss and Marquette. She is the sister of Ed Morrow, current Marquette men’s basketball player, after transferring from Nebraska.
