2019 Class: Recruiting News/Updates, January 2019

Emily Behnke, 6-2 F/C, Manitowoc Lutheran HS (WI): announced her commitment to North Dakota State (Summit).

Grace Waggoner, 5-10 W, Vincennes Rivet HS (IN): announced her commitment to Indiana as a preferred walk-on. She had originally committed to Evansville in September 2018 but then decommitted two months later.

Waggoner, who lifted Vincennes Rivet High School to the Class A state championship game last season, will be a preferred walk-on. She was awarded the Lilly Scholarship in December and will receive a full ride academically.

“It is kind of the best of both worlds,” said Charlie Waggoner, her father and a Rivet assistant coach. “(IU’s) Kelley School of Business is a great business school. Plus, coach (Teri) Moren and the staff at IU is a positive. She’s got the program going really good. They are ranked 25th. It’s a good fit for Grace and a good chance to play in the Big Ten.”

Grace decommitted from the University of Evansville women’s program in November and re-opened her recruitment. She had also visited Toledo, coached by former UE coach Tricia Cullop, Harvard and Clemson.

Ahsha Spencer, 5-8 G, Oak Park and River Forest HS (IL): received her first offer, from North Dakota State. A day later Wabash Valley, a junior college in Illinois, offered her.

Hannah White, 5-8 G, Columbus HS (MS): picked up an offer from Alabama State. In December, Mississippi Valley State offered her.

J’Mya Cutter, 5-8 G, Johnson HS (Savannah, GA): Savannah Morning News article mentions that Cutter has offers from Old Dominion, Southern, and Savannah State.

Quadijah Moore, 6-0 W, Emerald HS (Greenwood, SC): committed to USC Upstate. She had originally committed to Old Dominion, in February 2018, but later reopened her recruitment.

Destyne Jackson, 5-8 G, Frederick Douglass HS (Lexington, KY): committed to Wright State.

Unique Meyers, 5-7 SG, DME Sports Academy (Daytona Beach, FL): committed to Coppin State. She is a postgrad at DME, following her graduation from National Christian Academy (MD).
