Nebraska’s guard depth took a hit when the team this week ruled out graduate transfer guard Kristian Hudson for the rest of the season. NU will attempt to apply for a medical redshirt for Hudson, who appeared in seven games but struggled with foot issues.

Nevada

November 7, 2018: The game notes for the Wolf Pack’s season opener versus Utah indicate that junior guard Mikayla Christian, a transfer from TCU, is eligible to play in 2018-19 after receiving a waiver from the NCAA.

UNLV

January 1, 2019: The Rebels (2-9 in nonconference play) have been without senior forward Katie Powell since December 1 and senior center Paris Strawther since November 13. They both are expected to return for UNLV’s Mountain West opener versus Colorado State on January 2.

Prior to suffering an ankle injury, Powell had averaged 16 PPG and 7.2 RPG during the first six games of 2018-19. She had been a preseason all–Mountain West pick. Strawther averaged 9.3 PPG and 6.3 RPG in 2017-18.

Back for the Lady Rebels are post players Katie Powell (right ankle) and Paris Strawther (broken finger on left hand). Powell was injured Dec. 1 and Strawther on Nov. 13, and last season they combined to average 24.8 points and 15 rebounds a game.

“For the other players, there’s a positive because they got a lot of experience,” UNLV coach Kathy Olivier said. “We played different combinations. Everyone’s getting an opportunity out there. We’re at full speed now with 15 players and hopefully we can get on the winning track again.”

New Hampshire

January 12, 2019: Redshirt junior forward/center Ashley Storey, the leading scorer for the Wildcats (17.1 PPG), will miss a month of action with a foot injury. In addition, sophomore forward Maggie Ahearn has been out since December 16 with some sort of injury. She had started eight of the first nine games of 2018-19, averaging 8.7 PPG.

In a season already ravaged by injuries, the Wildcats lost their leading scorer, junior Ashley Storey, on Wednesday to a foot injury that will keep her off the court for more than a month.

Without Storey and sophomore Maggie Ahearn, who has also missed most of the season due to injury, the Wildcats went shot for shot with Stony Brook early before fading and losing to the Seawolves 82-63 at Lundholm Gym on Saturday.

Although the Pack got its first win of the season, it suffered a major setback before the game even begun. Graduate guard Kaila Ealey suffered a non-contact knee injury early in October during practice and will miss the entire season.

Jarnot comes to UND after two seasons at Monmouth and was granted an NCAA waiver to allow her to play this season. She will have two years of eligibility remaining to play with her freshman sister Jaclyn Jarnot, who signed with the Fighting Hawks this spring.

“We are thankful for the support and work of these athletic departments.  We’re excited that Alaina chose UND and know she will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact,” Brewster said. “We expect Alaina to be a difference-maker as we enter The Summit League this season. She’ll be counted on to help navigate us back to where we belong alongside her sister Jaclyn. This year’s team has a family feel throughout, the group that we have has two sets of sisters on the team currently and a long history of siblings playing here. We’re pumped that their close friends and family in nearby Minnesota will have the opportunity to cheer them on here at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.”

The eldest Jarnot played in 31 games this past season at Monmouth, making 15 starts. She averaged just over three points and grabbed 2.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

December 8, 2018: The Huskies were down three players for their game versus Western Illinois, which they won thanks to a school-record 52 points from senior guard Mikayla Voigt, who sank a school-record 11 three-pointers.

There’s been no official word on her status, although she was spotted wearing a walking boot at the UT Martin game following an injury she suffered in the previous game.

November 28, 2018: An update on injured Wildcat players, including Scheid, from the Daily Northwestern:
